Heaven, You Must Be Nuts

And then he offered to get Elle and I a room at the 4.5 star Platzl Hotel in historic old town Munich. After treating us to a delightful evening, the offer for a room was the icing. And I realized we were in heaven.

We had been joking about Facebook and the pleasantries people post and how we are actually living a version of bliss that pisses some people off.

Fuck. Really?

The invitation is a choice. Elle says, “I’m worried about the car.” Our host says, “Fuck the car! Do you know where you are? The worst that can happen is your car gets towed. And then we’ll just go get it.”

And I remember the distinction of heaven.

The invitation and what I post about looks like bliss. That bliss is an active choice. I could get pissed off that Elle wants to go one way and I want to go another. Or I could be angry that we got a $10 euro parking ticket.

But I choose bliss. I mean really, we could have spent 20 minutes finding and understanding where to park. Instead we drove within 15 meter of the front door to our destination and parked front row.

And actually we spent considerable more paying for proper parking in Zurich. So a $10 ticket was actually a good deal ☺

The invitation is subtle. And it is easy to miss on the uptake. Getting wrapped in things that rob us of our happiness. Worry about anything is really just draining the life force from within us. Truly.

But for a while we have too many stories about why that can’t be reality. I mean worry is good for some things, right?

I was in network marketing and when my organization reached a considerable size it became an asset. It was sought after. There was a BIG to do and a day spent at the corporate office while leaders of which I was included hashed, pounded and frowned and demanded what they wanted in moving people.

All the while one man never got upset. Not once. It was if he was walking on a cloud. And so finally I asked,

“Fred, why is it that you are so happy through all of this?”

He stopped turned to me and with an absolute glimmer in his eyes said,

“Because after you get shot at by a helicopter chasing you with 50 caliber machine guns, everything else is just a walk in the park.”

Fred had found through intensity the truth about happiness–about what I call heaven. The glimmer is a secret. And the majority of the world is making up reasons to give away their bliss.

The invitation is when you feel that you are angry, worried, or irritated you’ll notice. And so when you do… ask yourself,

“Is this really worth giving away my happiness?”

The world responds to frequency. When you are in fear you are given more to worry about. Same for every feeling, what do you want more of?

The way to heaven is active choice. Practice keeping your bliss and soon you will find heaven becomes you. And you will be shaking your head within the reality you reside.

Now, for day two in Munich… Prost!
